Actor Jonathan Majors, known for his role in Creed III, has been accused of assault and harassment following an incident involving a woman in a New York apartment. Police have reported that the 30-year-old woman was allegedly assaulted by Majors on Saturday in what they believe was a domestic dispute. Lawyers representing the actor have denied any wrongdoing and suggested that he was actually the victim of the altercation. The NYPD has stated that they were called to the scene after receiving a 911 call from an apartment in Manhattan's Chelsea district. The woman was taken to hospital with minor head and neck injuries. Variety magazine reports that in her complaint, she claimed that Majors slapped her and put his hand on her neck, causing her "substantial pain". However, Majors' criminal defense lawyer, Priya Chaudhry, claims there is video footage and witness testimony that supports their claim that Majors was the victim and the woman has recanted her allegations. The US army has also temporarily removed advertisements featuring the actor from their recruitment campaign following the arrest.
